We are located in the lower level of Animal Clinic South on
the east side of Telegraph just a little south of Dierberg's
shopping center. Additional parking is available in the
shopping center directly behind the car wash.
South County Obedience Training Center (SCOTC)
uses positive training methods and will teach you how to effectively
communicate with your dog to achieve desired
results. Training should be fun for you and your dog and will be a
wonderful way to bond with your canine companion.

Classes Offered
At SCOTC we offer classes for people that are just
looking for a better mannered household pet and also offer classes for
individuals that are interested in competing and showing their dog in
AKC Obedience Trials. Classes that will be offered will include:

Puppy
Class for puppies and dogs 2 months to 6 months of age. To build
a foundation of good communication between the puppy and their
human family by introducing basic obedience commands,
socialization skills and basic manners. This class will develop a
happy, thinking puppy who enjoys learning, working with people,
and is fun to be around! |

Novice I for dogs over
5 months old that have
already been enrolled in a Puppy Class or Basic Manners Class and
for dogs over 6 months old that have not been enrolled in a Puppy
Class or Basic Manners Class. |

Novice II for dogs that have successfully
completed a Novice I or a Beginner's Novice Class. Completion of
Novice classes will give you and your dog the necessary skills to
participate in AKC obedience trials in the Novice Class |

Pre-Trial Novice
This class is for individuals that are getting
ready to show their dog in an AKC Obedience Trial at the
Novice level. The class will concentrate on precision
heeling and the fine points that will help you achieve
higher scores in an obedience trial. The class offers
methods that will help the dog focus on the handler and
deal with distractions in the ring. |

Open -
This class is for
those
getting ready to
show in Open
Formalization of
all Open exercises are taught along with individual proofing for
preparation of the competition ring. |

Utility -
An advanced class geared for those wishing
to seek an AKC Utility Dog Title. Exercises include signal work, scent
discrimination and directed retrieves and jumping. Dogs entering this
class must have a solid retrieve. |
